Edd Smith Case Study Overview

Case study - Love it more

The brief was to develop a compelling campaign aimed at encouraging shoppers who are purchasing mobile phones and tablets during Black Friday to prioritize the protection of their new devices. The goal was to raise awareness about the importance of securing their valuable electronics with appropriate accessories or insurance, ensuring they are safeguarded against potential damage, theft, or loss in the aftermath of their significant purchase. These would be in the clients Corporate Brand style, but also to be rolled out for other retail Partner in their Brand styles, for use in Point of Sale, OOH advertising, and consumer events at large retail hubs.

My role was Designer and Artworker throughout the whole project. To work on the inital consept from the start, then develope these through to final Artworked assets at the end, finalising Print and Digitally ready files to share with the client and suppliers.

Working closely together with a Copywriter, the initial concept idea, headline and copy was drafted up and a A4 'Key Visual' was created and submitted. Upon approval these concepts were rolled out across multiple assets in the clients Corporate Brand style, but also to be rolled out for other retail Partner in their Brand styles, for use in Point of Sale, OOH advertising, and consumer events at large retail hubs.

Understanding Client Objectives

As creatives our aim is to fully grasp the client’s needs, which often involve enhancing their brand visibility, improving user engagement, or launching a new product. By clearly defining these objectives, we ensure that every design choice aligns perfectly with the overall vision, driving the project forward.

The Initial Discussions

Every great project begins with a conversation. In this initial phase, we sit down with the client to discuss ideas, preferences, and crucially, their vision. These discussions are more than mere exchanges; they lay the groundwork for a successful partnership and a well-rounded project.

Setting Expectations Together

Setting clear expectations from the outset allows us to work synchronously towards our goals. Each phase of the design process is tailored to meet these expectations, ensuring harmony between the client's vision and our execution.
